In this chapter we introduce GenBank and its companion databases, as well as the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI). We introduce ways to access a variety of information (including Entrez at NCBI, protein databases such as UniProt, genome browsers such as those at Ensembl and UCSC, and biomedical literature via PubMed).
