Chapter 2: Access to Sequence Data and
Literature Information
This web page offers the web documents that are referred to in Chapter 2 of the book, as well as various resources. In this chapter we introduce GenBank and its companion databases, as well as the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI). We introduce ways to access a variety of information (including Entrez at NCBI, protein databases such as UniProt, genome browsers such as those at Ensembl and UCSC, and biomedical literature via PubMed).
